“The blind tee shot over gorse on this short par 4 needs to be positioned carefully with trees right & left and a fairway bunker short of the green. It is important to judge the distance of the drive as well as the accuracy. Flirt with the valley in front of this green and you may stay in it, it holds many a run up shot. The green slopes from left to right and unless you send in a lofted shot, the green will be difficult to hold. In 2007 a new back tee was added making the hole longer and more of a left to right dogleg. The open area of semi-rough beyond the mature ash tree across to the fifth fairway was a bail out area but now new tree planting has removed this option.”
